There is no doubt that Scandinavian design has been popular in the UK for some time now, and it isn’t showing any signs of slowing down. The simplicity and functionality of Scandinavian design appeal to many in the UK, particularly those living in smaller spaces. Using natural materials, a neutral colour palette and materials such as wood and stone create a calm and clutter-free environment that promotes a stiller slower paced life. And let’s face it, we all need to slow down a bit more than we currently do.
Number 2 - Biophilic Design
With many people feeling burn out a biophilic design goes hand in hand with Scandinavian Minimalism, incorporating natural elements into interior design to create a space that encourages well-being. Using a range of natural elements such as, water and greenery you can turn any space into a calm and peaceful environment. Materials such as bamboo, cork, reclaimed wood are a brilliant way to bring nature inside.
Number 3 - Art Deco
What can we say about art deco, it’s a bit marmite but when it’s done well, it’s extremely effective. Art deco is an opulent style that features bold geometric shapes, rich colours and luxurious materials such was velvet and brass. If you love a bit of drama and indulgence in your interior art deco is definitely the way forward. All it takes is statement lighting, some mirrored surfaces and some large obnoxious graphic prints and you will be well on your way to creating a theatrical home.

The industrial style has been going strong for some time now, incorporating the raw, unfinished look.
